Bougainvillea at Hartman Institute

With the shmitta year over, active gardening will resume at the Hartman Institute. In fact, at a staff meeting last week, the joke was that our gardener would soon be one of our busiest staffers. Indeed, the Institute’s three-acre (11 dunams in Israeli terms) campus looked lovely throughout the shmitta year. But now more work will get under way, presumably enhanced by the natural, organic compost collected during this past summer’s recycling initiative.
